As most of our friends and family know by now, Emily is pregnant. Last Wednesday was our 16 week check up. We thought we would find out the sex of the baby at this appointment since ultrasound technology is so advanced these days but apparently it is still common to wait until closer to 20 weeks to determine the sex. So after talking the nurse into doing an ultrasound but having no luck seeing “the goods” we decided to take matters into our own hands. I hopped on the trusty iPhone to look up the nearest ultrasound clinic. Success! There was one less than 5 miles away so we got in our car and drove there as fast as we safely could. We didn’t know what to expect when we got there having never had the need to visit one ourselves. We were pleasently surprised with a friendly staff, scented candles, comfortable seating, flat screen HD monitors, soothing music and flattering lighting. After 15 minutes of diligent searching the technician finally felt sure of the results and proceeded to slowly type the words “IT’S… A… GIRL” on the monitor. Here is a great ultrasound picture of her profile. It looks like she got the Tingley family small chin. Emily has definitely started showing, and feels the baby kick now almost daily! I can’t wait until I can feel it. Thats it for now, but we will keep you posted!
